The Truth Isā¦.
Our beautiful city of Tempe is growing fast, but not everyone is growing with it.
My name is Elvis Taska and Iāve lived in Tempe my whole life. I grew up here, and I still live next door to the house I was raised in. Iām running because I believe Tempe is at a turning point and north Tempe needs council representation.
I want to make sure our future is rooted in care, thoughtfulness, and real community.
-
I want a Tempe where families can put down roots, students choose to stay after graduation, and neighbors feel seen and supported. A place where the people who make this city vibrant actually get to help shape it.
-
Affordable housing is a big oneāpeople are being priced out of their own neighborhoods. Iām also focused on climate resilience and protecting our water. Public education, safe and connected transit, and rebuilding trust in local government are all priorities for me. These things are connected. We canāt afford to address them in isolation.
-
Iām not a politician. I didnāt plan to run for office. Iāve been a builder, an organizer, a listenerāsomeone who shows up for people. I believe leadership is an act of love. Itās about being present, not perfect. Thatās what I bring to the table.
-
I lead with empathy, transparency, and long-term thinking. I believe we have a responsibility to protect people and placesāto make sure growth doesnāt come at the cost of the community. That means listening first, making decisions with care, and staying grounded in what matters.
-
We all deserve a seat at the table. But if that table doesnāt exist, Iāll help build it. That means more opportunities for people to be heardānot just in meetings, but in the everyday rhythm of civic life. I want folks to feel like this campaign belongs to them.
-
Iām here for the people whoāve been left out of the conversation. Artists, teachers, caregivers, small business owners, young people trying to stay in the city they love. I want to make sure Tempeās leadership actually reflects the people who live and work here.
-
You donāt need to be experienced in politics. You just need to care. Whether itās signing the petition, knocking on doors, coming to a house gathering, or sharing your storyāIād love to have you involved. This campaign is built on relationships, not resumes.
